Chelmsford has reached a significant milestone with the opening of Beaulieu Park Station—the first new station on the Great Eastern Main Line in over a century. Delivered ahead of schedule, this transformative infrastructure project strengthens Chelmsford’s position as a connected, future-ready city.
Located in North East Chelmsford, the station offers fast links to London Liverpool Street in just 40 minutes and Chelmsford city centre in 4 minutes, providing businesses and residents with improved access to jobs, services, and markets. With over 700 parking spaces, a new bus interchange, cycling facilities, and enhanced walking routes, Beaulieu Park is designed as a sustainable transport hub.
The station is a cornerstone of the Chelmsford Garden Community, which will deliver 10,600 new homes, alongside schools, health services, and community facilities. This infrastructure investment underpins housing growth and creates a platform for economic development, attracting new businesses and talent to the area.
The £175 million project was made possible through collaboration between Homes England, Essex County Council, Chelmsford City Council, the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, and housing developers. Operated by Greater Anglia, the station will ease pressure on Chelmsford’s existing rail services and reduce car journeys into the city centre.
Improved connectivity is a catalyst for growth. Beaulieu Park Station enhances Chelmsford’s appeal as a strategic business location, supporting sectors from logistics and advanced manufacturing to digital technology and professional services. For investors, this is a clear signal of Chelmsford’s commitment to sustainable development and future-ready infrastructure.
