Chelmsford BID Business Awards 2026 Now Open for Nominations

Nominations are now open for the Chelmsford BID Business Awards 2026, which return for their third year to recognise the businesses that contribute to a thriving Chelmsford city centre. The awards highlight excellence across 12 refreshed categories, with nominations open until 31 March 2026.

Last year’s programme saw significant engagement from the community, including over 2,000 nominations, 10,000 public votes, and a sold‑out celebration event at Chelmsford Cathedral, reflecting the strong support for local businesses within the BID area.

Invest Chelmsford Supports Emerging Businesses

Invest Chelmsford is sponsoring the Best New Business category for 2026, reinforcing the city’s ongoing commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, economic resilience, and business growth. The category aims to spotlight new businesses that bring innovation and energy to Chelmsford’s commercial landscape.

Awards Process

The awards follow a four‑stage process:

  1. Nominations (Closes 31 March 2026): The community is invited to nominate eligible businesses located within the Chelmsford BID area.

  2. Shortlisting (April 2026): A judging panel will review all entries and create a shortlist for each category.

  3. Public Voting (April 2026): The public will then be able to vote for their preferred finalists.

  4. Awards Evening (10 June 2026): Winners will be announced during an event at Chelmsford Cathedral. 

Get Involved

Residents, employees, visitors, and fellow businesses are encouraged to submit nominations and help recognise the organisations that contribute to Chelmsford’s dynamic city centre economy.
