Chelmsford College to Host Youth Self‑Employment and Start‑Up Event for 16–24 Year Olds

Youth Business Event
Chelmsford’s young people will have the chance to explore the world of entrepreneurship this spring, as Chelmsford College, in partnership with Chelmsford City Council hosts a dedicated Youth Self‑Employment and Business Start‑Up Event designed to equip 16–24‑year‑olds with the skills, confidence and insight they need to become their own boss.

Empowering Young Talent

The event is tailored for young people considering self‑employment, launching a start‑up, or turning a hobby or skill into a viable business. Attendees will gain practical advice on everything from understanding self‑employment to managing a side hustle safely and sustainably. The event will also showcase pathways into becoming self‑employed in the industries students are currently studying.

Workshops, Guest Speakers and Real‑Life Inspiration

Attendees will hear directly from guest speakers and local young entrepreneurs who have already taken their first steps into business. Practical workshops will cover topics such as building a start‑up, navigating early challenges, and understanding the tools available to support new ventures.

Support organisations and business support partners will also be present, offering information, resources and guidance for those taking their first steps into starting their own business.
